Abuja, Nigeria – The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim community on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, emphasizing the need to sustain the spirit of sacrifice and unity for national progress.

In a Sallah goodwill message made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), the Corps Marshal described Ramadan as a period of spiritual renewal, fostering love, sacrifice, and good neighborliness. He urged Nigerians to uphold these values beyond the festivities to strengthen national cohesion and peaceful coexistence.

Call for Road Safety During Festivities

As the Eid-El-Fitr celebrations lead to increased human and vehicular movement, Mohammed advised Nigerians to celebrate with caution, particularly on the roads. He urged motorists to exercise patience and show compassion, not only during the Sallah period but in their daily driving habits.

He reassured the public of FRSC’s commitment to ensuring a safer road environment during the celebrations. To this end, the agency has deployed officers across major road corridors and identified accident-prone areas to manage traffic flow and prevent crashes.

“I call on all Nigerians to join the campaign to make our roads safer, not just during the celebrations but beyond. Avoid speeding, overloading, and driving against traffic regulations,” he stated.

Commitment to Officers' Welfare and National Development

The Corps Marshal commended FRSC personnel for their dedication to road safety despite challenges posed by reckless drivers. He reaffirmed the agency's commitment to improving officers’ welfare through enhanced working conditions, capacity development, and regular promotions.

He also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for providing the necessary logistics and support to enhance FRSC’s operations.

Mohammed further prayed for Allah’s guidance and protection over Nigeria, calling on all citizens to embrace the lessons of Ramadan and contribute to national peace and development. He assured that the FRSC would continue leveraging technological innovations to improve traffic management nationwide.
