IGP Orders Posting of Newly Appointed DIGs to Key Police Departments
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the immediate deployment of six newly appointed Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs) and one Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) to strategic departments within the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
A statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, and made available to the **National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP)**, confirmed that the new postings aim to optimize operational efficiency and strengthen the Force’s capacity to tackle evolving security challenges.
According to the statement, the newly posted officers and their assignments are as follows:
- **DIG Sadiq Idris Abubakar, mni** – Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID)
- **DIG Benjamin Nebolisa Okolo, fdc** – Force Intelligence Department (FID)
- **DIG Williams Adebowale, fdc** – Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- **DIG Bzigu Yakubu Kwazi, mni** – Department of Operations (DOPs)
- **DIG Adebola Ayinde Hamzat** – Department of Logistics and Supply (DLS)
- **DIG Idegwu Basil Okuoma** – Department of Research and Planning (R&P)
Additionally, the IGP has reassigned **DIG Sahabo Abubakar Yahaya** to oversee the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA).
The Inspector-General expressed confidence in the capabilities of the senior officers, emphasizing that their wealth of experience will significantly enhance the efficiency of the Nigeria Police Force.
