Lagos State Officials Inspect Proposed Energy Hub in Ibeju Agbe
On March 26, 2025, a delegation comprising officials from the Lagos State Ministry of Energy and key investors in the Lagos State Independent Power Project (IPP) visited Ibeju Agbe for an onsite inspection of the proposed energy hub. The inspection team was led by Mrs. Khadijat Disu Agunbiade and Mr. Kenny Awe.
As part of their visit, the team paid a courtesy call to the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, at the Council Secretariat. The proposed energy hub is expected to host the Lagos State Government’s Gas Fire project, a power generation facility aimed at addressing the energy deficit in the region and across the state.
Local government officials present to welcome the delegation included the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Mojeed Olayinka; Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo; Special Adviser on Works, Hon. Fatai Alonge; Councillors; Council Manager, Mr. Dipo Otinwa; and other senior management staff.
The visit marks a significant step towards the realization of the energy hub, reinforcing the Lagos State Government’s commitment to infrastructural development and sustainable energy solutions.
