Senator Tokunbo Abiru Facilitates Major Road Projects in Lagos East
Lagos, Nigeria – In a continued effort to improve infrastructure and ease transportation for residents of Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, has facilitated the construction and rehabilitation of several critical roads. These projects aim to enhance accessibility, boost economic activities, and improve the overall quality of life for commuters and motorists in the region.
Among the notable road projects facilitated by the senator are:
- 1.2km Dagbolu Road (Majidun)
- 1.2km Agunfoye Road (Igbogbo)
- 1.2km Ojokoro Road (Agric area, Ikorodu West LCDA)
- Ibu-Owo and Jalajugbo Roads (Currently under construction)
- Ojediran Street and Alhaji Andu/Shokoya Roads (Completed)
More Roads Set for Rehabilitation
Following the completion of ongoing road projects, Apena Jimbo, Nurudeen Owolabi, and GRA 2 Roads have been earmarked for construction and rehabilitation. These projects reinforce Senator Abiru’s commitment to addressing infrastructure deficits and ensuring sustainable development in Lagos East.
Ikorodu-Itokin Road Reconstruction in Progress
In addition to these community roads, the 32-km Ikorodu-Itokin Road reconstruction—a critical project that connects various communities and towns across Lagos East—is also progressing under Senator Abiru’s facilitation. This major artery is expected to significantly ease transportation, reduce travel time, and enhance trade and commerce within the district.
Community Applauds Senator Abiru’s Developmental Efforts
During a community engagement session in Ojokoro and Dagbolu, led by Senator Abiru’s Media Aide, Mr. Enitan Olukotun, residents expressed their appreciation for the senator’s proactive approach to infrastructure development. They also commended his contributions in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and economic development, including:
- Facilitation of schools, hospitals, ambulances, and medical supplies
- Provision of electricity transformers, stadia, and market facilities
- Establishment of youth centers for skills development
- SAIL Innovation Labs in Ikorodu and Ibeju-Lekki—a personal endowment project focused on technology and entrepreneurship training
