The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Moshood Jimoh, has commended officers under the Area F Command for their effective community policing strategies during his familiarization visit to the command headquarters in Ikeja.
Accompanied by top police officials and a board member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, CP Jimoh was warmly received by Area Commander ACP Paul Azuka Okafor, DPOs, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) members, and community leaders.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, CP Jimoh applauded ACP Okafor’s leadership and the harmony between DPOs and PCRC leaders. He highlighted the unique cooperation in Lagos, contrasting it with tensions seen in other states. He urged the public to provide timely information to aid crime prevention and encouraged officers to uphold professionalism and integrity.
In his address, ACP Okafor detailed the command's structure—comprising nine divisions and 927 personnel—and its strategic coverage, including key state institutions and security outfits. He cited recent achievements, including arrests and weapons recovery, while appealing for increased manpower and support.
The visit featured commendations from community stakeholders. The Arewa community, represented by Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu, praised the efforts of CSPs Ayo Elijah and Akinwunmi Oke in combating drug abuse and fostering peace. Other PCRC and community leaders echoed similar appreciation.
CP Jimoh reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining peace and security across Lagos and pledged continued support for community policing initiatives.
