AIG Zone 2 Fayoade Assures Lagos, Ogun Residents of Security During and After Easter

In line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, on ensuring a secure environment during the Easter celebrations, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2 Command, AIG Adegoke Fayoade, embarked on a strategic security assessment across Lagos and Ogun States.

The Zonal Public Relations Officer, CSP Ayuba T. Umma, in a statement made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), disclosed that AIG Fayoade visited critical areas including Ojota Park and Agege in Lagos, as well as Sango Ota and the Shagamu Interchange in Ogun State to monitor compliance with the IGP’s security directives.

During the visit, AIG Fayoade charged the Commissioners of Police in both states to ensure robust security measures, including deployment of tactical units at key locations such as the Shagamu Interchange, OPIC Long-Bridge, Badagry Expressway, worship centers, shopping malls, markets, bus terminals, residential areas, and major highways.

He also engaged youths at Ojota and Agege, urging them to maintain peace and abide by the law throughout the festive period.

AIG Fayoade extended Easter greetings to Christian faithful and assured the public of adequate security, encouraging citizens to celebrate without fear of violence or harassment. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration between the police and the public to ensure a peaceful holiday season.
