Hon. Olowa Engages Communities, Pays Tributes, and Celebrates Easter with Ibeju-Lekki Residents


The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, spent the Easter weekend engaging with grassroots communities, paying respects to departed community leaders, and celebrating with market stakeholders across the local government area.

In a bid to deepen community relations, Hon. Olowa met with residents of Zone “A” Community Development Association (CDA) at the residence of the Baale of Abule Oluwa. Addressing the gathering, the Council Chairman outlined key achievements of his administration in the zone, especially infrastructure and flood control measures. He urged residents to maintain the existing drainage systems to support the government’s efforts at mitigating flooding.


Welcoming the Council Chairman, the Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman, Comrade Adeboye Jabita, expressed appreciation for Hon. Olowa’s developmental strides and assured him of the community’s continued support, especially ahead of the coming elections.

In a show of appreciation, the CDA members surprised Hon. Olowa with a birthday cake and sang a birthday song, wishing him good health and a prosperous tenure.

Farewell to the Baale of Akodo

Hon. Olowa later proceeded to Akodo community to pay his final respects to the late Baale of Akodo, Chief Mutafiu Adebayo Ogunlaja, and his wife, Chief Mrs. Noyinmot Ajiun Ogunlaja. The couple, who passed away last year, were honoured for their leadership and service to the ancient community.

Visit to Orimedu and Celebration of Market Leadership

The Easter outreach continued with a visit to the palace of the Onimedu of Orimedu, His Royal Majesty Oba Yisa Toheeb Abidemi Oyedele (Oyetu I), where the Chairman joined in the ceremony marking the installation of Mrs. Khadijat Kareem as the Otun Iyaloja of Orimedu Land. The event highlighted the Council’s commitment to supporting market leaders and fostering local commerce.


The week-long Easter engagements reflect Hon. Olowa’s ongoing commitment to people-centered governance and community development across Ibeju-Lekki.
