First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Hosts Christian Youth, Urges Love and Unity for National Development

Abuja, April 21, 2025 — The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerian Christians to embody love and unity as key ingredients for the nation’s development.

She made the call while hosting members of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) to an Easter Brunch at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Senator Tinubu emphasized the importance of showing love to neighbors regardless of religious or regional differences, stressing that sacrificial love and compassion remain powerful tools for transforming society.

“I am truly encouraged by your visit and the show of love,” she said. “Let us continue to love unconditionally and avoid judging others based on religion or background.”

Addressing the youth, she urged them to take a leading role in promoting gender equity, noting that Nigeria offers ample space for women who are determined to succeed.

The National Chairman of YOWICAN, Belusochukwu Enwerem, expressed appreciation for the First Lady’s support and pledged the association’s continued commitment to national peace and development. He stated that YOWICAN is prepared to partner with the First Lady and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration through interfaith dialogue and engagement with their Muslim counterparts.

In furtherance of this commitment, Enwerem announced the launch of the Renewed Hope Neighbor2Neighbor Movement, aimed at strengthening religious harmony. He also decorated the First Lady as the Grand Patron of the movement.

This Easter Brunch marked the second time YOWICAN has paid homage to Senator Tinubu, providing another opportunity for fellowship and celebration during the season.

In a major gesture of support, the First Lady announced the donation of seven Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered 14-seater buses to assist the evangelical efforts of YOWICAN across the country.
