GTCO Food and Drink Festival 2025 Kicks Off with Flair, Flavor, and Family Fun

Lagos, Nigeria – The 2025 edition of the highly anticipated GTCO Food and Drink Festival commenced over the weekend with a vibrant celebration of culinary excellence, family bonding, and cultural diversity. Now in its 8th year, the festival continues to grow in scale and influence, attracting thousands of food lovers, chefs, entrepreneurs, and families from across Nigeria and beyond.

Held at the GT Centre, the festival ground came alive with glamour and excitement as over 200 food and beverage vendors showcased an impressive variety of local and international cuisine. From street food favourites to gourmet delicacies, the event offered a mouthwatering journey around the world on a single stage.

The festival’s opening day featured a rich mix of experiences including masterclasses by world-renowned chefs, tasting sessions, live cooking demonstrations, interactive games, and a vibrant kids’ play zone. One of the standout events was the Kids' Pizza Masterclass led by acclaimed chef Cristian Duhalde, which provided an exciting and hands-on learning experience for children and their guardians.

With aprons on and rolling pins in hand, eager young participants learned the basics of pizza making—from kneading dough to layering toppings—under the friendly guidance of Chef Duhalde. Parents looked on with pride as their children kneaded, sprinkled, and baked their own personalized pizzas. The masterclass was not just about food—it was about fostering creativity, teamwork, and a shared family experience that extended beyond the kitchen.

“This is my daughter’s first time making pizza from scratch,” said one enthusiastic parent. “It’s wonderful to see her so engaged, and we’re definitely going to try this at home.”

Beyond the culinary adventures, the GTCO Food and Drink Festival also features an array of side attractions including food photography exhibitions, mixology shows, cultural performances, and live music, creating a carnival-like atmosphere for visitors of all ages.

The event, organized by Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO), aims to spotlight the richness of Nigeria’s culinary industry while supporting small and medium-scale food businesses. It has evolved into a platform that celebrates food not only as sustenance but as an art form, a business, and a tool for community building.

As the festival continues through the weekend, more masterclasses and showcases are lined up, with top chefs from around the world expected to grace the stage. Food lovers are encouraged to take full advantage of the event, which promises unforgettable experiences, unique flavors, and a dynamic space for learning, networking, and entertainment.
