 Arewa APC Stakeholders Rally Support for July 12 LGA Polls in Lagos West II

Lagos, Nigeria – June 25, 2025

The Arewa Community under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos West II, on Tuesday, June 25, 2025, held a crucial stakeholders’ meeting to mobilize grassroots support ahead of the forthcoming Local Government and Local Council Development Area (LGA/LCDA) elections scheduled for July 12, 2025.

The well-attended gathering, which took place at Wowo Primary School in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area, brought together Arewa traditional leaders, APC stalwarts, market leaders, traders, and prominent members of the northern community residing in Lagos.

In his welcome address, the Apex Leader of the Arewa APC Lagos West II, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Tanko Auna Dan’iyan Lagos, emphasized the importance of peace, unity, and collective purpose as the community prepares for the upcoming elections.

Alhaji Tanko urged members of the Arewa community to vote massively for all APC candidates, acknowledging existing grievances over perceived neglect by some elected party members. He, however, noted that party leadership had received the concerns and promised to address them constructively.

Despite the challenges, he commended reliable leaders who have demonstrated inclusive governance. He praised Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola, the Executive Chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA, for his consistent efforts in integrating Arewa residents into community development programs. He also recognized Hon. Sabur Akambi Oluwa, the member representing Ajeromi-Ifelodun Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, for prioritizing the Arewa community in his constituency projects.

“We should not allow the opposition to take advantage of our differences,” Alhaji Tanko stated. “Let us mobilize at the ward level, campaign vigorously, and ensure the victory of our party, the APC. We believe that with our collective support, better days lie ahead.”

The event ended with a renewed commitment among attendees to support APC candidates and contribute to a peaceful and successful electoral process.
