CG Adeniyi Applauds Ogun II Command Over 40% Revenue Surge, Commends Gov. Abiodun's Industrial Drive

The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, has lauded the Ogun II Area Command for recording a 40% increase in revenue generation, pledging support to address the Command’s operational challenges.

Adeniyi gave the commendation during a working visit to the Command’s headquarters in Abeokuta on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, where he was received by the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Bisi Alade, and senior officers.

In his remarks, Alade described the CGC’s visit as a morale boost, highlighting that the Command generated ₦15.191 billion between January and April 2025—up from ₦9.165 billion during the same period in 2024. He also noted that Ogun II oversees three Free Trade Zones, 67 excise factories, and a bonded terminal, reinforcing its strategic importance.

Alade outlined operational challenges including the need for more vehicles, medical equipment, renovated quarters, borehole upgrades, and a solar power system. In response, Adeniyi assured that the issues would be considered by headquarters and urged officers to pursue continuous professional development.

The CGC also praised Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for positioning the state as Nigeria’s industrial hub, given its proximity to the Republic of Benin. He reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to partnering with the state for economic growth and security collaboration.
