Egbe Omo Ilaje Worldwide Sets Up Committee Over Attack on Olu of Igbokoda


Igbokoda, Ondo State – June 4, 2025
Following the reported attack on the Olu of Igbokoda Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba Afolabi Odidiomo, Egbe Omo Ilaje Worldwide has constituted a five-member fact-finding committee to investigate the incident.

The attack, allegedly carried out by Chief Akogun Aiyedatiwa on June 2, 2025, occurred during the official flag-off ceremony of the dualization of the Igbokoda-Okitipupa Road. The confrontation has been widely condemned and described as embarrassing and regrettable by stakeholders across the Ilaje Nation.

In a statement issued by the Secretary-General of Egbe Omo Ilaje Worldwide, Rev. Edamisan R. Ogunfeyijimi, the President-General of the group, Prince Iwamitigha R. Irowainu, announced the formation of the committee after extensive consultations with relevant stakeholders.

The committee, which is expected to submit its findings within seven days, comprises the following members:

  1. Engr. Adeniyi Aribo (Okitipupa) – Chairman
  2. Elder Solomon O. Oladunjoye (Ebute-Metta, Lagos) – Secretary
  3. Elder Bamidele D. Ojamomi (Ondo City) – Member
  4. High Chief Bode Nana (Ore) – Member
  5. Mrs. Bola S. Edema (Okitipupa) – Member

According to the President-General, the committee’s mandate is to investigate both the immediate and remote causes of the incident and to recommend measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.

Prince Irowainu urged the people of Ilaje, particularly residents of Igbokoda Kingdom, to remain calm and law-abiding while the committee carries out its assignment.

“We are committed to ensuring that justice is served. Let us maintain peace and decorum as we await the outcome of this investigation,” he said.
