Senator Tokunbo Abiru Celebrates Democracy Day, Urges Nigerians to Support President Tinubu’s Reforms

As Nigerians mark the 2025 edition of Democracy Day, the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, has called on citizens to reflect on the nation’s democratic journey while reaffirming their commitment to its growth and sustainability.

In a statement commemorating the day, Senator Abiru joined the people of Lagos East and all Nigerians in celebrating 26 years of uninterrupted democratic governance in the country.

“Today, I join the good people of Lagos East Senatorial District and all Nigerians in commemorating Democracy Day, a moment of reflection and appreciation for how far we have come as a democratic nation,” he said.

Acknowledging the progress made since the return to democratic rule in 1999, Senator Abiru noted that while the journey has not been without challenges, Nigeria has shown remarkable resilience and growth.

“As we navigate this critical period in our nation’s history, I call for continued support and understanding for our dear President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as he implements bold policy decisions aimed at repositioning our nation for sustainable growth,” Abiru stated.

He emphasized that although the reforms may require sacrifices from citizens, the positive impact is already beginning to show across various sectors of the economy.

The senator also paid tribute to the courage and determination of the Nigerian people, urging them not to lose hope in the face of current difficulties.

“I urge all Nigerians to continue upholding the core values of democracy and seek constructive ways to consolidate the gains we have made over the years,” he added.

Senator Abiru concluded by wishing Nigerians a peaceful and reflective Democracy Day while praying for continued progress and unity in the country.
