2027: Tinubu Risks Disappointment If He Sticks to Old Strategy — Primate Ayodele Warns

LAGOS, JULY 22, 2025 — The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu against relying on outdated political strategies as he eyes re-election in 2027.

The prominent cleric, known for his prophetic commentary on national affairs, warned that the president may face disappointment if he fails to adopt a more dynamic and spiritually guided approach ahead of the next general elections.

Speaking in Lagos, Primate Ayodele described the president’s current political playbook as "archaic and unworkable," urging Tinubu to revamp his methods and put in more effort than he did in the lead-up to his 2023 victory.

“Tinubu is going to stress himself more than when he was about to become president. He is desperate to win and willing to do everything humanly possible, but without taking the right steps, nothing will work,” Ayodele stated.

The cleric noted that the political terrain—particularly in the northern part of the country—remains a major battleground and a source of concern for the ruling party. According to him, the signals from the North are not encouraging, and the president must act fast to win over the region.

“The political calculation in the North is a tough one for both the opposition and the ruling party. Tinubu has not really captured the North. He needs to intensify his efforts and seek the face of the Lord,” he said.

Primate Ayodele advised the president to overhaul his current strategy, warning that continuing on the present path would only lead to frustration and political setback.

“He needs to change his formula. What he is trying to do will not work as expected. If he doesn’t make the right moves, he will be disappointed,” the cleric concluded.

The message comes as political consultations begin to heat up ahead of the 2027 elections, with observers keenly watching how key players respond to shifting political dynamics across the country.
