First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Leads High-Profile Women’s Delegation on Condolence Visit to Daura



…Pays Tribute to Late President Muhammadu Buhari, Meets Emir of Daura

DAURA — Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Saturday, led a powerful delegation of women leaders on a condolence visit to Daura, Katsina State, to sympathize with Hajia Aisha Buhari, the widow of former President Muhammadu Buhari, following his recent passing.

The delegation included wives of National Assembly leaders, state governors, ministers, service chiefs, and other prominent women figures who gathered to pay their respects and offer prayers for the repose of the late President’s soul.



During the visit to the Buhari family residence, the First Lady and her entourage extended heartfelt condolences to the former First Lady, Hajia Aisha Buhari, acknowledging her strength and grace during this difficult time. The women also prayed for continued strength and comfort for the family.

Senator Tinubu described the late former President as “an accomplished leader who brought pride to his family, hometown, state, and the nation at large.” She also commended his legacy of service and commitment to Nigeria.

The delegation also visited the gravesite of the late President, where a brief prayer was offered in his memory. They proceeded to the residence of Alhaji Mamman Daura, uncle and close associate of the late President. Alhaji Daura expressed gratitude to the First Lady for her support and the honour shown to the late statesman.



In a separate visit to the Emir of Daura, His Royal Highness Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar, Senator Tinubu offered condolences to the Daura Emirate for the loss of one of its most revered sons. The Emir, in his remarks, appreciated the First Lady’s gesture and reaffirmed the Emirate’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that he remains their preferred choice for the 2027 presidential elections.




The visit by the First Lady underscores the continued bond between the Tinubu and Buhari families and highlights national unity during a period of mourning.
