Glo Partners Cubecover to Launch Nigeria’s First Mobile Device Protection Service
Lagos, July 23, 2025 — Leading telecommunications company, Globacom, has introduced an innovative device protection service for its customers in partnership with Nigeria’s foremost tech solutions provider, Cubecover.
In what is being described as a first-of-its-kind offering in Nigeria’s telecoms industry, Glo subscribers—both new and existing—can now protect their mobile devices against screen and water damage for as low as N50 per day. The service provides up to N50,000 worth of screen repairs or replacement in the event of damage.
Speaking on the new offering, Globacom’s Head of Value Added Services (VAS), Mr. Mojeed Aluko, explained that the flexible subscription packages include daily (N50), weekly (N300), and monthly (N600) options, giving customers affordable micro-insurance for their devices.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to offering valuable and innovative services that enhance the digital lifestyle of our customers. With this affordable protection, users can stay connected without fear of high repair costs from accidental screen or water damage,” Aluko stated.
However, he noted that coverage becomes active only after a subscriber has maintained an active subscription for one month.
To activate the service, customers are required to dial 70131# and select their preferred subscription plan. Payment is deducted directly from the subscriber’s Glo airtime balance, with options for a one-time subscription or auto-renewal.
Once payment is successful, subscribers receive a link to test the condition of their device screen. If the screen passes the diagnostic test, the device’s IMEI number is registered with Cubecover, officially enrolling the user in the protection scheme.
Commenting on the partnership, Managing Director of Cubecover, Mr. Deji Macaulay, said: “This collaboration with Glo is designed to take the stress out of accidental phone damage. It removes the financial burden of costly repairs and offers peace of mind to mobile users.”
Globacom added that the device protection service is not only unique for its simplicity and affordability but also for its speed. “The tech-driven verification process eliminates paperwork and delays, making it user-friendly and efficient,” the company stated.
New customers can also take advantage of the offer by visiting any Gloworld outlet nationwide to purchase a Glo SIM and any phone of their choice, after which they can instantly enroll in the device protection plan.
This new service marks another step in Globacom’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge, customer-focused solutions in Nigeria’s fast-evolving digital landscape.
