Agboyi-Ketu LCDA Begins Screening for Distribution of 300 Free GCE Forms

Agboyi-Ketu, Lagos – The Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the leadership of Hon. (Mrs.) Adetola Adunni Abubakar, has commenced the screening exercise for the distribution of 300 free General Certificate of Education (GCE) forms to eligible candidates across the council area.

The initiative, which is one of the flagship projects of Hon. Adetola’s 8-Point Agenda, is designed to empower young people and promote access to quality education regardless of socio-economic background.

The screening exercise, coordinated by the LCDA’s Education Department, began on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Council Secretariat and will continue until Monday, August 18. Successful applicants will receive their forms on Wednesday, August 20.

Speaking on the programme, Hon. Adetola emphasized that the free GCE forms initiative is a continuous intervention aimed at removing financial barriers to education.

“Education remains one of the strongest tools for social transformation. Supporting our students with free GCE forms is not only about easing the financial burden on families, but also about investing in the future of Agboyi-Ketu. No child should be denied the chance to achieve their academic dreams because of financial limitations,” she said.

Applicants turned out in large numbers for the exercise, armed with required documents including passport photographs, valid means of identification, and other supporting credentials.

The council boss reiterated that the programme is people-centred and aligns with her administration’s vision of inclusive development and equal opportunity for all residents of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA.
