Aroyewun Visits AOSTEM Centre, Reaffirms Commitment to Education

The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, paid a visit to the Dr. Akinola Ogunlewe STEM (AOSTEM) Education Centre, where he encouraged students currently participating in holiday classes.

The students welcomed the Chairman with excitement and warm applause as he addressed them. Aroyewun urged the young learners to remain diligent in their studies, cultivate good character, and obey their parents. He stressed that true academic excellence must be complemented by discipline and sound moral values.

The visit featured a surprise appearance by Engr. Olugbenga Ogunlewe, Head of the Mechanical Department at the Lagos State Public Works, who also engaged the students. He encouraged them to pursue excellence in their careers and specifically inquired about those interested in mechanical engineering.

Three students expressed interest, prompting Engr. Ogunlewe to make the following commitments:

  • Saliu Abdul-Lateef (SS3): A laptop gift and a guided tour of his office, with transportation provided from Igbogbo to Alausa and back.
  • Abdul-Mujib Jimoh (SS3): A complete set of textbooks.
  • Opene Faith (JSS1): An opportunity to be finalised in due course.

The initiative highlighted the council chairman’s dedication to education, mentorship, and youth empowerment, while further strengthening community support for nurturing future leaders and innovators.
