Catchball Federation Seeks Partnership with Ibeju-Lekki Council on Grassroots Sports Development

The Catchball Federation of Nigeria (CFN) has expressed readiness to collaborate with Ibeju-Lekki Local Government in promoting grassroots sports and youth empowerment.

Representatives of the federation, led by Mr. Bola Babarinde and Mr. Ayotunde Ayodeji, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the Council Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, at the council secretariat.

Discussions during the visit focused on harnessing sports as a tool for community development, with particular emphasis on empowering the girl-child and providing alternatives that would engage children productively and keep them off the streets.

Catchball, a fast-growing non-contact sport with roots in Israel, is designed to promote teamwork, fitness, and social inclusion, especially among women, youths, and underserved communities.

Hon. Olowa welcomed the initiative, assuring the delegation of the council’s commitment to exploring partnerships that would create opportunities for young people through sports.
