The Professional Online Journalists Association of Nigeria (POJAN) has appointed Dr. Segun Musa as a Patron, in recognition of his contributions to media development, public communication, and national growth.
The announcement was made during a courtesy visit by a POJAN delegation led by the association’s President, Mr. Oluwaseyi Fadoro, to Dr. Musa’s office.
Fadoro commended Dr. Musa for his integrity, leadership, and impact in shaping public discourse, noting that his commitment to excellence and the advancement of the media industry has been widely acknowledged.
“Your unwavering commitment to the development of the media and your contributions to national conversations have not gone unnoticed,” Fadoro said.
In his response, Dr. Musa expressed gratitude for the recognition, pledging his support to POJAN’s mission of promoting ethical and responsible journalism.
“I sincerely thank the group for considering me worthy to serve as Patron. I will give my full support and do my best not to let you down,” he assured.
He also urged journalists to uphold objectivity in their reportage and to embrace continuous learning as a tool for growth and relevance in the profession.
“Be objective in your storytelling and always seek to improve your knowledge. Growth in this profession comes with learning,” he advised.
The appointment, according to POJAN, is expected to strengthen its drive to uphold professionalism, credibility, and ethical standards across Nigeria’s online journalism space.
