First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Mourns Veteran Journalist Dr. Doyin Abiola
The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of veteran journalist and former Editor-in-Chief of the National Concord, Dr. Doyin Abiola.
In a condolence message, Senator Tinubu described the late media icon as a distinguished journalist, trailblazing Nigerian woman, and a beacon of professionalism whose impact on the growth of the Nigerian media industry remains remarkable.
“She carved a path of excellence and courage for many Nigerian women in media and public service,” the First Lady noted, adding that Dr. Abiola’s life and career will continue to inspire all who believe in the power of the written word and the press as a tool for nation-building.
Senator Tinubu extended her sympathies to Dr. Abiola’s children, grandchildren, family, friends, colleagues, and the entire media community, praying for God’s comfort over the “irreplaceable loss.”
