Lagos, Nigeria – The Founder and Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has called on the Nigerian government to intensify efforts in safeguarding Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps across the country.
Speaking during a church service in Lagos on national issues, Primate Ayodele expressed concern over the deteriorating health conditions in several IDP camps, warning that many inhabitants are dying from preventable diseases such as cholera, chickenpox, and polio.
He urged authorities to implement strict health measures, improve sanitation, and provide adequate medical care to prevent further loss of lives.
“The government must ensure that people stop dying in IDP camps due to diseases like cholera, chickenpox, and even polio,” he said. “The camps need constant monitoring, not only to curb disease outbreaks but also to prevent any unexpected bomb attacks that could endanger the lives of displaced persons.”
Primate Ayodele emphasised that proactive surveillance and swift intervention are essential to protect vulnerable populations in the camps and uphold their right to safety and dignity.
