Nigeria’s CP Olubode Ojajuni Elected Into INTERPOL Africa Committee

ABUJA — The Nigeria Police Force has secured a major international milestone as Commissioner of Police (CP) Olubode Ojajuni was elected into the INTERPOL Africa Committee during the 27th African Regional Conference held in Cape Town, South Africa.

With his victory in the keenly contested election, Nigeria clinched its fifth seat on the Committee for a two-year tenure, the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) reports.

Role of the INTERPOL Africa Committee

The INTERPOL Africa Committee advises the African Regional Conference in executing its mandate, facilitates its sessions, and identifies key crime priorities on the continent. It also promotes cross-border police cooperation, advances best practices, and develops initiatives to strengthen regional and continental security.

Nigeria’s Influence in Global Policing

The election of CP Ojajuni further underscores Nigeria’s growing influence in international law enforcement, particularly in combating transnational crime, terrorism, cybercrime, and other emerging security threats.

By securing this seat, Nigeria is positioned to continue shaping strategies and contributing to global security under the INTERPOL framework.
