Primate Ayodele Warns of Planned Attacks on Military Formations, Convoys in Northern Nigeria

Lagos, August 8, 2025 — Primate Elijah Ayodele, Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has warned of possible attacks on military formations and convoys in Northern Nigeria, urging the military to heighten vigilance in the coming months.
Speaking during a prophetic session at his Lagos church on Friday, the cleric claimed intelligence from divine revelation indicated that a new terrorist group — with alleged links to Al-Qaeda and ISIS — is planning to launch coordinated assaults in parts of the country.
He listed Yobe, Katsina, Benue, Nasarawa, Adamawa, Kano, and Zamfara as likely targets, particularly in September and October, and advised the Chief of Army Staff to intensify airstrikes in collaboration with other security agencies.
“The Chief of Army Staff must be very watchful in these states to prevent attacks on military formations and convoys. More air operations should be carried out to weaken the terrorists’ capacity,” Ayodele said.
Despite the warning, the cleric maintained that the Nigerian Army would ultimately defeat the insurgents, insisting that “the days of terrorists in Nigeria are numbered.”
“The new group may cause problems in some northern states, but they will be crushed. Nigerian soldiers will squeeze them until they are no more,” he declared.
Primate Ayodele has frequently issued security-related prophecies, many of which focus on insurgency, governance, and national stability.
