Apapa Customs Rakes in ₦215bn on ‘B’Odogwu’ Platform in August

LAGOS — The Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced revenue collection of ₦215 billion in August 2025 through the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), popularly known as B’Odogwu, despite reported network hitches.

Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, described the feat as a product of growing confidence in the digital platform and the resilience of officers and stakeholders. He commended the dedication of personnel and the patience of port users, saying their collective effort has sustained the system in the face of operational challenges.

“The ₦215 billion collection confirms progress in our ongoing journey to build a dependable platform for trade in Nigeria. This is a collective victory for all of us, and we shall continue marching forward for greater successes in the days and months ahead,” Olomu said.

He also credited the Customs Comptroller-General, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, for personally engaging stakeholders to boost confidence in the UCMS. According to him, directives from the Comptroller-General have reinvigorated the ICT/Modernisation Department to swiftly address technical hitches, respond to user complaints, and improve service delivery.

Olomu expressed optimism that B’Odogwu would soon surpass expectations, revolutionising customs operations and trade facilitation at Nigeria’s busiest port.
