Aroyewun Moves to Revive Ibeshe Health Centre, Promises 24-Hour Service

The Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, has pledged to revive the Ibeshe Primary Health Centre and transform it into a fully functional 24-hour facility.

Aroyewun made the commitment on Thursday, September 25, during an inspection visit to the centre, where he was accompanied by Vice Chairman Barr. Ade Ayeni, Chief of Staff Hon. Wasiu Olowu, Councillor representing Ward C4 Hon. Yusuf Bello, the Asiwaju of Ibeshe Kingdom Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, and members of the council’s management team.

During the visit, the council boss expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of the health centre, citing weak infrastructure, inadequate medical staff, and its current eight-hour daily operation as major challenges.

He announced immediate plans to renovate the facility, recruit additional health personnel, and provide modern equipment to enable the centre to operate round the clock.

“Our people deserve better. The state of this facility is unacceptable, and under our GLORY Agenda, we are determined to change the narrative. Healthcare is not a privilege; it is a right,” Aroyewun said.

The Chairman explained that the intervention aligns with his administration’s GLORY Agenda — Good Governance, Leadership, Opportunities, Reform, and Youth Empowerment — and is part of a broader strategy to strengthen primary healthcare delivery across the LCDA.

Residents of the community welcomed the development, expressing optimism that the move would improve access to healthcare, reduce emergencies at night, and lessen the burden of travelling outside Ibeshe for medical attention.
