Hon. Olowa Inspects Abijo Dredging Site, 1.3km Access Road Project
The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, on Tuesday inspected the dredging site at Abijo and the 1.3-kilometre access road linking the Lekki–Epe Expressway to the site.
During the inspection, the Chairman received proposals from dredging companies seeking to partner with the local government in the construction of the road. He described the initiative as a welcome development that will not only improve accessibility but also boost the economic condition of the area.
Hon. Olowa noted that many hotels and event centres around the axis had been abandoned due to the poor state of the road, stressing that the new project would revive commercial activity, attract future investments, and create job opportunities for residents.
“This road, when completed, will enhance business operations at the dredging sites and beyond. It will also open up the area for more investments, creating jobs and additional prosperity for the people of Ibeju-Lekki,” he said.
The Council boss assured stakeholders that his administration remains committed to delivering infrastructure that directly impacts residents’ livelihoods and drives sustainable development.
