Soludo Commissions 13km Nzam Road, Fulfills Campaign Promise

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has commissioned the newly constructed 13-kilometre road leading to Nzam, headquarters of Anambra West Local Government Area, fulfilling a key campaign promise.

For decades, Nzam and its adjoining communities were cut off by poor infrastructure, leaving residents without a motorable access road. But with the new project, the governor declared that “the barrier has finally been overcome.”

Speaking after touring local markets and other locations, Governor Soludo described the project as a personal milestone.
“This is an emotional journey for me. I made a promise with significant consequence during the last gubernatorial campaign. Today that promise has been fulfilled as we can now drive into Nzam in September,” he said, according to his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime.

The event also witnessed notable political realignments, as prominent figures from Anambra West defected to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). The governor likened the party to a “religion” in Anambra, welcoming the new entrants while restating his administration’s focus on inspection, commissioning, and new project launches.
“We are on a mission of transformation and development, reaching out to those who have been overlooked and neglected,” he added.

Commissioner for Local Government, Mr. Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, commended the governor’s leadership, noting that every local government area has recorded tangible benefits in less than four years of the Soludo administration.

Also speaking, APGA State Chairman, Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye, praised the governor for connecting Nzam, recalling the campaign stop at Mmiata Anam and noting that Soludo had kept his word.

On behalf of the new APGA members, Chief John Ozoemena pledged their full support for Soludo’s re-election bid.

The commissioning of the Nzam road is part of the governor’s broader agenda to expand infrastructure and accelerate development across rural communities in Anambra State.
