South Sudan Needs Prayers to Avoid Crisis — Primate Ayodele
Lagos, September 14, 2025 — Primate Elijah Ayodele, Founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos, has warned that South Sudan must remain prayerful and cautious to avoid a looming political crisis that could draw in the international community.
Speaking on global issues at his church on Sunday, Primate Ayodele cautioned that the country faces serious challenges as it transitions from one government to another, noting that the process may spark instability and foreign intervention.
“Let South Sudan be watchful and prayerful so that the country will not turn into turmoil. They must be careful about international community crisis,” he said.
The cleric predicted that while more politicians in the country may be jailed, some political detainees will also be released. He added that although the president will attempt to implement reforms to turn the nation around, several factors will cause delays and frustrations.
According to him, the vice president and his team will eventually play a stabilizing role, but he warned that the president must act with caution to avoid further complications.
“South Sudan will face multiple challenges in transiting from the present government to another democratic dispensation, and that will bring problems between the South Sudanese government and the international community. However, the vice president and his team will work together to bring stability to the country,” Primate Ayodele stated.
