Rite Foods Inspires Confidence and Ambition in Young Girls through “Empower Her” Initiative

Lagos, Nigeria — In a renewed show of commitment to youth development and gender inclusion, Rite Foods Limited, Nigeria’s leading manufacturer of quality beverages and snacks, has partnered with the Lifelong Impact and Welfare Foundation for the third edition of its annual Empower Her with JennyUK initiative.

Themed “Unlocking the Potential of the Next Generation,” the 2025 edition was held at Gbagada Girls Junior Secondary School, Lagos, drawing hundreds of enthusiastic students who participated in sessions focused on health, hygiene, self-awareness, and personal growth.

Rite Foods’ collaboration with the foundation reflects its dedication to nurturing a generation of confident and visionary young women capable of driving societal change. The initiative, which began in 2023, has continued to impact hundreds of girls by equipping them with the knowledge and life skills necessary to make informed decisions and build successful futures.

Delivering a keynote on “The Role of Self-Care in Empowering the Girl Child: Building Resilience and Shaping Her Vision for the Future,” Olukemi Ogunsakin, Corporate Communications Manager at Rite Foods Limited, emphasized that self-care is not merely a personal act but a powerful form of empowerment.

“Intentional self-care—covering mental, emotional, and physical well-being—helps girls build resilience, confidence, and a strong sense of identity,” she said. “When young girls recognize their worth, they become bold, self-assured, and capable of transforming their communities.”

Ogunsakin reaffirmed Rite Foods’ passion for education, empowerment, and inclusion, stressing that true empowerment begins with access to information and equal opportunities.

“At Rite Foods, we believe empowerment starts with education and the right opportunities,” she noted. “When girls understand their value, they not only shape their futures but also contribute meaningfully to national development. Supporting this initiative is our way of investing in a brighter, more inclusive Nigeria.”

The convener of Empower Her and Founder of the Lifelong Impact and Welfare Foundation, Jenny Ukpai, lauded Rite Foods for its continued support and commitment to empowering young Nigerians, particularly girls.

“Our mission is to raise confident and resilient young women who can thrive and lead,” Ukpai stated. “This year’s partnership with Rite Foods reinforces our goal of building a generation of informed and empowered girls ready to take on the future.”

Through programs like Empower Her, Rite Foods continues to demonstrate its role as a socially responsible and community-driven brand. Under its EYEC (Empowerment, Youth Development, Education, and Community) Corporate Social Responsibility framework, the company remains dedicated to advancing education, well-being, and youth empowerment across Nigeria.
