Wema Bank Takes SME Empowerment Drive to Ghana with NBC Trade Fair

Wema Bank has announced the expansion of its SME empowerment initiative, the NBC Trade Fair, to Ghana, marking a new milestone in its support for women-led businesses and inter-African trade.

The maiden Ghana edition is scheduled to take place on October 4–5, 2025, at The Palms Convention Center, Accra. The event will feature a diverse lineup of vendors across fashion, food, skincare, and lifestyle, creating a vibrant platform for small businesses to showcase their products, attract new customers, and build cross-border networks.

True to its tradition of combining commerce with financial empowerment, Wema Bank will offer participants a wide range of services, including free BVN registration, paid NIN registration, instant account opening, virtual naira and dollar cards, giveaways, and access to its SARA community for women entrepreneurs.

Attendees shopping with Wema Bank debit cards during the fair will also qualify for exclusive rewards. The bank further encouraged prospective participants to open accounts ahead of the event via its ALAT digital banking platform to enjoy additional benefits.

According to the bank, the initiative reflects its commitment to financial inclusion, women’s economic empowerment, and the growth of African SMEs.

“The Ghana edition of the Wema Bank x NBC Trade Fair is more than just an exhibition; it is a strong statement of our dedication to uniting African entrepreneurs and opening new opportunities beyond Nigeria,” the bank noted.
