Zone 2 Police Arrest Six Suspected Armed Robbers, Recover Weapons, Ammunition, and Vehicle
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Zone 2 Command Headquarters, comprising Lagos and Ogun States, have arrested six suspected armed robbers allegedly responsible for dispossessing innocent citizens of their valuables in different parts of the zone.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement issued by the Zonal Public Relations Officer (ZPRO), CSP Ayuba Tunni Umma, and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP).
According to the statement, the suspects — identified as Shola, Pelumi, Gbenga, Zacchaeus, Tunde, and Saheed — were apprehended following credible intelligence and swift police action coordinated by operatives from the Dragon Team under the Zone 2 Command.
CSP Umma explained that the arrests followed multiple complaints received by the office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command, which prompted a detailed investigation and a tactical operation to track down the perpetrators.
“On October 5, 2025, at about 10:00 p.m., operatives traced the suspects to their hideout in the Ijebu Ode area of Ogun State, shortly after a robbery incident. The team conducted a successful raid leading to the arrest of all six suspects and the recovery of two locally made pistols, thirty live cartridges, and a wine-coloured Toyota Camry with registration number KNN 383 BU,” the statement read.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command, commended residents for their continued cooperation with security agencies and reiterated the Command’s commitment to maintaining safety and order within the zone.
He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and to continue providing timely and useful information to aid the police in tackling crime and ensuring a safer society.
