1,187 Cadets Graduate from Nigeria Police Academy, Commissioned as Assistant Superintendents



The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on Saturday, November 29, 2025, commissioned 1,187 cadets of Regular Course 7 into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs).

The colourful Passing Out Parade (POP), held at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, marked the successful conclusion of five years of intensive academic and professional training. The graduating officers also earned Bachelor’s degrees in various disciplines, equipping them with a blend of academic competence and practical policing skills.



President Tinubu, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, CON, congratulated the new officers and urged them to uphold integrity, professionalism, and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties. He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to sustained police reforms, improved personnel welfare, and enhanced operational capacity.

The ceremony attracted high-profile dignitaries including Shanta Emily Knowles, Head of the Royal Bahamas Police Force; the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf; representatives of the Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs; members of the National Assembly; heads of sister security agencies; top serving and retired police officers; the Provost and academic faculty of the Academy; as well as traditional rulers, religious leaders, parents, and well-wishers.

Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, while congratulating the new ASPs, lauded their resilience and discipline throughout their training. He emphasized that effective policing rests on character, discipline, and professionalism, and urged the officers to remain dedicated to protecting lives and property, maintaining law and order, and rebuilding public confidence in the Force.



The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its resolve to continue producing highly trained, well-educated, and professional officers capable of addressing contemporary security challenges.
