Agboyi-Ketu Council Hosts 3-Day Free Medical Outreach for Over 2,000 Residents



The Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Mrs.) Adetola Adunni Abubakar, has successfully concluded a three-day comprehensive health outreach aimed at improving the wellbeing of residents across the community.

The free medical programme, which commenced on Monday, November 4, 2025, at the Council Secretariat, provided residents with a wide range of healthcare services including medical consultations, health screenings, free medications, and the distribution of blood pressure (BP) monitoring machines.

Over 2,000 residents benefited from the initiative, which featured vital tests such as blood pressure checks, blood sugar level assessments, height and BMI measurements, HIV testing, family planning services, tuberculosis screening, kidney function evaluation, and eye examinations that led to the distribution of free medicated glasses.

Hon. Adetola, in her opening address, reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and accessible healthcare delivery. She urged residents to prioritize regular medical checkups, stressing that “good health is the foundation of sustainable community development.”

The outreach programme continued on November 5 and 6 at the Council’s Primary Health Centres located at Akintan Mascara and Akinyemi Street, Alapere. Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that it brought essential health services directly to their doorstep.

In her closing remarks, Hon. Adetola Adunni Abubakar commended the medical team, council officials, and volunteers for their dedication to ensuring the success of the exercise. She encouraged residents to make healthy living a continuous priority.

Present at the event were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Ganiu Fatai; Leader of the Legislative House, Hon. Aderoju Adekunle Adelowootan, and Councillors; pioneer Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Pastor (Mrs.) Yetunde Arobieke; Aare Alaba Saliu; Hon. Abiodun Ogungbo; as well as past legislators, executive members, and other political leaders within the LCDA.
