 Agboyi-Ketu LCDA Engages Residents in 2026 Budget Consultative Forum

The Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Hon. (Mrs.) Adetola Adunni Abubakar, on Thursday brought together a broad spectrum of community stakeholders for the 2026 Budget Stakeholders Consultative Forum themed “Budget of a New Dawn.”

The forum, designed to promote inclusive governance and participatory budgeting, provided residents and community representatives with a platform to contribute directly to the formulation of the 2026 fiscal plan.

In her keynote address, Hon. Adetola reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to transparency and collective decision-making, noting that the 2026 budget would reflect the aspirations and priorities of the people.

“The 2026 Budget is not just a financial document; it is the blueprint for our community’s future,” she said.

“The ‘Budget of a New Dawn’ represents a fresh beginning—one where the voices of our leaders, business owners, market men and women, youths, elders, and all stakeholders are not only heard but shape the final outcome.”

The forum featured presentations and discussions across key sectors, including education and youth empowerment, healthcare, infrastructure, economic development, and environmental sustainability. Stakeholders outlined their needs, raised concerns, and presented recommendations for consideration in the coming fiscal year.

Ahead of the main forum, all seven wards in the LCDA had held their individual stakeholders’ sessions led by their ward councillors, a development that Hon. Adetola described as unique and helpful in streamlining inputs from the grassroots.

“Today, we have gathered the seeds of ideas that will blossom into tomorrow’s projects and programmes,” she added, assuring that all contributions would be thoroughly reviewed and integrated into the budget.

The event drew participation from royal fathers, political leaders, councillors, management staff, community and religious leaders, market and youth leaders, and other prominent figures.

Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Femi Saheed, commended the Executive Chairman for her impactful leadership within a short period and urged residents to continue supporting her administration.

At the end of the session, the collated recommendations were submitted to the office of the Executive Chairman, who reiterated her commitment to sustaining open, responsive, and participatory governance as the LCDA prepares its 2026 budget.
