CP Toyin Agbaminoja Strengthens Police–Customs Collaboration During Familiarization Visits to Apapa, PTML, and Tincan Commands
The new Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, CP Toyin Agbaminoja, has commenced a familiarization tour of key formations and strategic stakeholders within the maritime industry, beginning with visits to major Customs commands in Lagos.
According to a statement e-signed and released by the Command’s spokesperson, ASP Isaac Hundeyin, CP Agbaminoja visited the Apapa Area Command, the Ports and Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Area Command, and the Tincan Island Port Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) as part of efforts to enhance collaboration and strengthen port security.
The visit to the Apapa Area Command took place on Tuesday, October 29, 2025, while the PTML and Tincan Island Port visits were conducted on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
At each location, CP Agbaminoja was warmly received by Comptroller E.O.A. Oshoba (Apapa Area Command), Comptroller J.A. Anani (PTML), and Comptroller F.O. Onyeka (Tincan Island), alongside their respective management teams.
The visits, according to the Command, were aimed at deepening synergy between the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Customs Service, as well as fostering stronger collaboration among maritime stakeholders to enhance security, facilitate trade, and ensure seamless port operations across the Western Ports.
CP Agbaminoja commended the Customs Service for its steadfast commitment to protecting Nigeria’s economic interests and assured continued support from the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command in maintaining a safe, orderly, and efficient port environment.
While addressing officers during the engagements, the Commissioner underscored the importance of inter-agency cooperation and intelligence sharing in tackling smuggling, cargo theft, and other maritime-related crimes. She reiterated her commitment to working closely with all stakeholders to keep the ports secure and business-friendly.
In their separate remarks, Comptrollers Oshoba, Anani, and Onyeka praised CP Agbaminoja’s proactive and inclusive leadership style and pledged sustained collaboration with the Police in advancing shared security and operational goals.
The visits concluded with interactive sessions focused on addressing security challenges, improving coordination, and exploring innovative strategies for joint operations within the maritime sector.
