Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Marks 100 Days in Office with Major Infrastructure and Community Projects

Igbogbo/Baiyeku, Lagos – 13 November 2025 – The Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, on Thursday marked his first 100 days in office by commissioning major infrastructure and community development projects focused on healthcare, education, and public amenities in the LCDA.

Speaking at the event, Aroyewun described the milestone as a season of progress, purpose, and renewed hope, highlighting the administration’s commitment to the “Ōnà Ōgo: The Glorious Path” agenda, which emphasizes good governance, green initiatives, learning, wellness, infrastructure, and youth & sports development.

“Today is not just a celebration of time in office; it is an occasion of thanksgiving, accountability, and renewed commitment to the people who entrusted us with this sacred mandate,” Aroyewun said, addressing party leaders, councillors, community leaders, and invited guests.

Key Projects Commissioned

In the first 100 days, the administration has achieved a visible and measurable set of milestones, including:

Renovation and upgrade of Ibeshe Primary Health Centre

Reconstruction and expansion of Bayeku Primary Health Centre

Renovation of the Joint Task Force (JTF) office/environment block

Construction of six-unit toilets at Methodist Primary School, Igbogbo

Rehabilitation of six classrooms, fully equipped with 120 desks, benches, and marker boards

Chairman Aroyewun highlighted improvements in healthcare services, noting that medical equipment has been upgraded to provide broader diagnostic services beyond malaria testing and that clean, safe water has been restored to health facilities.

Alhaji Ibiyeye Razak, CDC Chairman, praised the administration, noting that the renovations and upgrades reflect a deep understanding of the community’s needs and set a new benchmark for service delivery.

Accolades from Stakeholders

The immediate past chairman of the LCDA, Builder Sesan Daini, commended Aroyewun for prioritizing the welfare of the community and focusing on education as a key area of development. APC chieftains in Ikorodu, led by Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, expressed appreciation for the chairman’s doggedness and attentiveness to counsel.

The Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Basirat Banjoko, said the legislative arm was pleased to collaborate with the chairman, noting that he is always attentive and responsive to the needs of residents.

Chairman Aroyewun emphasized that the first 100 days represent just the beginning of his administration’s mission. “Our journey has just begun. We are committed to accelerating infrastructure development, expanding empowerment programs, deepening education reforms, and making Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA a model of grassroots governance in Lagos State,” he said.

He urged residents to actively participate in community development by protecting public assets, obeying the law, and fulfilling civic responsibilities, including paying levies and rates.

“Together, we will build the Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA of our dreams — peaceful, prosperous, and progressive,” Aroyewun added, concluding with prayers for continued progress for the LCDA, Lagos State, and Nigeria.

The event was attended by APC party leaders and chieftains, councillors, traditional and religious leaders, underscoring the administration’s commitment to transformative governance, responsive leadership, and community-centered development.
