Ketu, Lagos – November 12, 2025: In a landmark intervention to strengthen healthcare delivery and ensure uninterrupted medical services, JMG Limited, a leading provider of integrated electromechanical solutions, has commissioned a fully solar-powered energy system at the Ketu Primary Healthcare Centre in Lagos.

The initiative, unveiled on Wednesday, 12th November 2025, guarantees 24-hour power supply to the facility, effectively ending years of disruption caused by erratic electricity supply — a challenge that has often put patients’ lives at risk during critical procedures.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, JMG’s Group General Manager, Mr. Rabi Jammal, said the project reflects the company’s belief that access to reliable power is a fundamental human right, not a privilege.

“Healthcare reflects our belief that reliable power is a right, not a privilege. Energy access is essential to life, healthcare, and human progress. Through this project, and others like it in Bariga and future locations, we reaffirm JMG’s commitment to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future,” he said.

The solar installation — comprising a 10-kilowatt hybrid inverter, 18 N-Type solar panels, and a 20.48 KWH lithium battery — ensures uninterrupted clean energy to power essential hospital operations, including emergency surgeries, immunization storage, maternity services, and diagnostic labs.

President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) and Executive Director of JMG Limited, Otunba Francis Meshioye, OFR, described the project as part of the company’s wider Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy to support public health and promote renewable energy adoption in Nigeria. He noted that the initiative builds on the company’s previous solar donation to the Bariga Primary Health Centre in 2024.

Commending JMG’s intervention, Dr. Dayo Lajide, Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District II, described the project as a timely boost to the state’s healthcare system.

“This initiative directly aligns with the Lagos State Government’s vision for improved healthcare delivery. We call on other corporate bodies to emulate JMG’s example and invest in community development,” Lajide said.

Also speaking, Dr. Hassan Sanuth, Director of Sanitation Services at the Lagos State Ministry of Environment, noted that the renewable energy system aligns with the state’s environmental sustainability and climate action goals.

The Medical Director of Ketu Primary Healthcare Centre, Dr. Mariam Oshodi, expressed gratitude on behalf of the facility, stating that the solar installation would “significantly improve service reliability and the quality of care.”

The Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Hon. Adetola Abubakar, praised JMG for its commitment to community well-being, emphasizing that sustainable partnerships like this will help strengthen local healthcare infrastructure.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by government officials, traditional rulers, and company executives, including HRM Oba (Dr.) Isiaka Adio Oyero Balogun, Oba of Ketu, and Hon. Yomi Ganiu, Vice Chairman, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA.
