MMI Greater Lagos Set for 25th Anniversary Silver Jubilee, Fundraising for Ibibio Community Property
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Akparawa Ubon Nsuabia, and the Secretary, Akparawa Ubong Efreso, and made available to journalists on Thursday, the organisation said the milestone celebration will take place on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Aotel Hotel, 1 Owodunni Street, Off Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos.
According to the statement, the ceremony will bring together members, friends, supporters and well-wishers of the Ibibio nation to commemorate the chapter’s achievements and rally support for its vision.
The event will be chaired by Obong Brian Efa, a Director at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Lagos. Elder James Edo, Managing Director of Bestman Technical Works Limited, will serve as the Chief Fund Raiser, while the Chapter Chairman, Akparawa Uwem Idaha, will host the gathering. The International President of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, Akparawa James Edet, will grace the occasion as Father of the Day.
“The Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio (MMI), Greater Lagos Chapter, is set to mark 25 years of existence with a Silver Jubilee celebration, during which funds will be raised for the purchase of land and the construction of the Ibibio House in Lagos,” the statement said.
The organisers described the event as an opportunity to honour the chapter’s history, strengthen bonds within the Ibibio community, and mobilize “great minds and progressives” who believe in the advancement of the organisation’s cultural and developmental goals.
