NCC Unveils Digital Awareness Fora to Drive Inclusive Access and Innovation Across Nigeria

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced plans to launch the Digital Awareness and Sensitization Fora — a groundbreaking initiative aimed at promoting inclusive access, innovation, and empowerment in Nigeria’s rapidly expanding digital landscape.

Set to debut on November 13, 2025, the maiden edition of the forum, themed “Leaving No One Behind: Digital Assets, Equity, and Empowerment,” is designed to foster collaboration among policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, and community stakeholders in bridging the digital divide and advancing equitable participation in the digital economy.

According to the NCC, the fora will serve as a strategic platform to strengthen policy frameworks, accelerate infrastructure deployment, and enhance digital literacy — all key drivers for national development and innovation inclusion.

The Commission noted that with over 140 million Internet users and one of the world’s youngest populations — 60 percent of whom are under 25 years — Nigeria stands at a critical juncture to harness its demographic advantage for digital growth.

The Digital Awareness and Sensitization Fora will spotlight practical solutions that promote affordable and accessible digital services, while empowering underserved communities through innovation and education.

Organized in collaboration with key partners including the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), National Orientation Agency (NOA), FintechNGR, KOICA, Association of Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ATCON), and National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the event will feature exhibitions, panel sessions, and showcases by innovators, startups, and students.

By integrating voices from regulatory agencies, academia, the private sector, and civil society, the NCC hopes to build a sustainable framework for a more digitally inclusive Nigeria.

The forum will be livestreamed nationwide via scf.ncc.gov.ng to enable broad participation and engagement from stakeholders across the country.
