Osun Development Association to Hold Maiden Development Summit, Celebrate 30th Anniversary

The Osun Development Association (ODA), a non-partisan and non-sectarian body of distinguished indigenes of Osun State, has announced plans to host the maiden edition of the Osun Development Summit alongside activities marking its 30th anniversary.

The landmark event, themed “Developing a Sustainable Blueprint for Sub-National Development through Public-Private Sector Synergy,” will take place on December 4, 2025, in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

According to the organisers, the summit aims to chart a clear course for the sustainable development of Osun State by exploring social, economic, and political strategies that harness the state’s human and natural resources. It will also focus on fostering stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors to drive inclusive growth.

Speaking on the upcoming summit and anniversary celebrations, ODA Chairman and President of the African Fintech Network, Dr. Segun Aina, said that the event’s theme, sub-themes, and speakers have been carefully selected to reflect the Association’s vision of sustainable progress for Osun State.

“The summit will feature two plenary sessions with sub-themes: ‘Harnessing the Efforts of Community-Based Self-Help Organisations in the Osun Development Agenda’ and ‘Developing a Holistic Academic, Vocational and Technical Competence in Osun State – Bridging the Gap,’” Dr. Aina stated.

He added that the 30th anniversary celebration would serve as an opportunity to recognise the Association’s contributions to Osun’s socio-economic and political development over the past three decades.

“At 30, the ODA has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the progress of our state through initiatives that promote education, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. The anniversary will celebrate these achievements while renewing our collective resolve to do more,” he said.

Planned activities for the milestone celebration include the Foundation Laying Ceremony for the proposed ODA House, an Anniversary Golf Kitty, and an Awards & Gala Night to honour outstanding contributors to the development of Osun State.

Established three decades ago, the Osun Development Association continues to play a pivotal role in advancing the state’s growth through collaborative, non-partisan initiatives that unite citizens, government, and the private sector in pursuit of a common vision for progress.
