Sterling HoldCo Posts 127% Profit Surge, Records ₦341.7bn in Nine-Month Earnings

Lagos, Nigeria – November 3, 2025: Sterling Financial Holdings Company Plc (Sterling HoldCo) has reported a strong financial performance for the nine-month period ended September 30, 2025, recording a 127 percent year-on-year growth in profit after tax to ₦62.3 billion.

The unaudited results reflect the Group’s consistent earnings momentum and operational efficiency, with gross earnings rising by 44.1 percent to ₦341.7 billion, compared to ₦237.2 billion in the same period of 2024.

A breakdown of the figures shows that interest income grew by 38.7 percent to ₦262.4 billion, driven by an expanded earning asset base, while non-interest income surged by 65.1 percent to ₦79.2 billion, underscoring Sterling HoldCo’s progress in diversifying its revenue streams.

The Group also strengthened its balance sheet, with total assets increasing by 15.5 percent from ₦3.54 trillion in December 2024 to ₦4.09 trillion as of September 2025. Customer deposits rose by 14.3 percent to ₦2.88 trillion, while shareholders’ funds advanced by 32.9 percent to ₦405.5 billion, reflecting robust capitalisation and strong investor confidence.

Group Chief Executive, Yemi Odubiyi, attributed the impressive performance to the Group’s diversified structure and disciplined execution.

> “Our performance over the first nine months of 2025 demonstrates the strength and adaptability of our Group structure. The significant growth in profit after tax underscores the success of our strategy to operate as a diversified financial services group delivering value through both our conventional, non-interest banking, and asset management subsidiaries,” Odubiyi said.

He further expressed appreciation to shareholders and investors for their trust in the Group, citing the successful conclusion of the public offer of 12.58 billion ordinary shares as a vote of confidence in Sterling’s long-term strategy.

Odubiyi added that the Group will continue to leverage technology, risk management, and sector-focused strategies to build a resilient institution capable of delivering sustainable returns and driving real economic impact.

With strengthened synergies across its subsidiaries, Sterling HoldCo said it is well-positioned to sustain its growth momentum into the final quarter of the year. The Group aims to deepen its footprint across key sectors, advance financial inclusion, and foster innovation that propels Nigeria’s real economy.
