AIG Zone 2 Honours Retiring Police Officers After 35 Years of Meritorious Service



The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Headquarters, Lagos, AIG Adegoke M. Fayoade, mni, psc, has honoured several senior police officers retiring from the Nigeria Police Force after completing 35 years of distinguished and meritorious service to the nation.

The ceremony, held at the MD Abubakar Hall, Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, was organised to celebrate the dedication, professionalism, gallantry and selfless commitment of the retiring officers, who devoted their most productive years to safeguarding lives and property across the country.

Speaking at the event, AIG Fayoade congratulated the retirees on the successful completion of their careers, describing their service as exemplary and worthy of emulation by younger officers. He commended their discipline, loyalty and sacrifices in advancing the ideals of the Nigeria Police Force and in service to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“As you bow out of active service, your legacies of professionalism and commitment will continue to inspire officers still in service,” the AIG stated, while wishing them a fulfilling and rewarding life in retirement.



As part of the programme, the retiring officers were presented with gifts in appreciation of their years of dedicated service. In a show of compassion and remembrance, families of officers in the zone who paid the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty were also recognised, condoled and presented with gifts.

The event drew senior police officers, family members and well-wishers, who applauded the Zone 2 leadership for its commitment to honouring service and sacrifice within the Force.
