Chairman Aroyewun made this known during a follow-up inspection of the facility located in Elepe, Ward C5, on Friday, 19 December 2025. He commended the quality of work executed on the project and noted that the facility fully aligns with its original vision of enhancing security infrastructure within the LCDA.

The inspection was conducted alongside the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ikorodu Division, CSP Akinola Clement, highlighting the operational importance of the Smart Police Station to policing and security coordination across the Ikorodu axis.

The Elepe Smart Police Station is a Nigeria Police Trust Fund project facilitated by the member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson. The facility is equipped with modern operational infrastructure designed to improve policing efficiency, enhance rapid response, and strengthen the overall security architecture of the area.

Speaking during the inspection, Chairman Aroyewun described the project as a strategic investment in community safety, stressing that effective security remains fundamental to social stability, economic growth, and sustainable development.

He commended Hon. Babajimi Benson for facilitating the project, describing it as a reflection of purposeful leadership and commitment to grassroots development.

According to him, the Smart Police Station represents more than a physical structure, but a long-term investment in peace, security, and public confidence. He added that the completion of the project, following his earlier inspection visit on 2 September 2025, demonstrates sound planning and professional execution.

Chairman Aroyewun reaffirmed the readiness of the Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA to collaborate with the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a successful commissioning and effective utilisation of the facility.

Upon commissioning, the Elepe Smart Police Station is expected to significantly enhance the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force and strengthen the protection of lives and property in Elepe, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, and neighbouring communities.
