Ibeju-Lekki Council Deploys Multi-Agency Security to Protect Public Schools
The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has initiated a comprehensive security operation across public schools in the council, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to safeguarding students and educational facilities.
Under the new directive, security personnel drawn from the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), the Ibeju-Lekki Community Corps (Folumo), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Nigerian Forests Security Services (Hunters) have been deployed to school premises, entry points, and surrounding areas. The deployment is effective immediately.
Hon. Olowa emphasized that the initiative is aimed at protecting lives and property, with a particular focus on ensuring the safety of schoolchildren and maintaining a secure learning environment.
The council appealed to school heads, teachers, and parents to cooperate with the stationed personnel and promptly report any suspicious activity. According to the chairman, collective vigilance will enhance the administration’s efforts toward building a safe and conducive environment for academic growth.
