LASTMA GM Bakare-Oki Wins 2025 Traffic Management CEO of the Year Award
The General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, has been named the Traffic Management Chief Executive Officer of the Year 2025 at the Razornews Inter-Agency Cooperation Awards.
The honour was presented during the 2025 Inter-Agency Cooperation Awards & Lecture on Tuesday, December 2, at the Shoregate Hotel in GRA Ikeja. The event attracted senior government officials, security agencies, emergency services, corporate leaders and development experts who gathered to celebrate outstanding contributions to institutional collaboration and public service.
The award committee noted that Bakare-Oki’s leadership has redefined inter-agency cooperation in Lagos traffic governance, praising his administrative excellence, strategic foresight and commitment to operational reforms aimed at improving mobility and public safety across the state.
Speaking after receiving the award, Bakare-Oki described the honour as a call to further strengthen LASTMA’s transformation drive. He emphasized the agency’s pursuit of a technology-driven and human-centric traffic management system that aligns with international best practices.
He dedicated the recognition to LASTMA personnel, commending their resilience and dedication in keeping Lagos roads orderly, supporting economic activity and fostering public confidence in government institutions.

The event also featured discussions on urban mobility, governance, emergency response and sustainable metropolitan development—highlighting the importance of collaboration in managing Africa’s fastest-growing megacities.
LASTMA reaffirmed that the award will motivate the agency to intensify its professionalism, accountability and humane enforcement of traffic laws, in line with the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the vision of a more orderly and efficient Lagos.
