Personnel Welfare: Zone 2 Begins Promotion Exercise for Police Inspectors

The Departmental Selection Board (DSB) has commenced its promotion exercise for Police Inspectors at the Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos. The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Ayuba Tunni Umma, and made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP).

According to the statement, the exercise aligns with the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to enhance personnel welfare and support career advancement within the Nigeria Police Force.

The promotion process, which will run until Friday, December 5, 2025, is being conducted simultaneously across all Police Zonal formations nationwide. It is designed to evaluate qualified Inspectors due for elevation to the next rank.

At the commencement of the exercise, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, AIG Adegoke M. Fayoade, psc, mni, fisn, addressed participating officers. He congratulated them on their eligibility, urging them to maintain the highest standards of professionalism throughout the process. He assured them that the leadership of the Force remains committed to a fair, transparent, and merit-driven promotion system.

AIG Fayoade also warned against any form of misconduct, bribery, or corrupt practices, stressing that integrity remains essential in both service and career progression. He is being supported in the exercise by Deputy Commissioners of Police in charge of Finance and Administration, DCP Bello Adamu, and the Zonal Criminal Investigation Department, DCP Olubode Fakeye.

The Nigeria Police Force reiterated that personnel welfare continues to be a central priority, and the ongoing promotion exercise reflects its commitment to rewarding competence, dedication, and exemplary service—ultimately fostering a motivated and professional workforce.
