AIG Fayoade, Immigration Zone A Commander Strengthen Police–NIS Collaboration on Security



The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Headquarters, Lagos, AIG Adegoke M. Fayoade, mni, psc, mnim, fisn, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to sustained collaboration with the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in addressing security challenges across the country.

AIG Fayoade gave the assurance while receiving the Zonal Commander of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Zone A, Ikeja, Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration (ACG) Adamu Mohammed, psc, pcc, who paid a courtesy visit to the Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos.

The visit, according to ACG Mohammed, was aimed at formally familiarising with the Zone 2 Command leadership and strengthening operational synergy between the NIS and the Police, particularly in areas of intelligence sharing and joint security operations. He noted that sustained cooperation between both agencies remains critical to strengthening national security and ensuring safer communities, adding that the Immigration Service has continued to benefit from such inter-agency collaboration over the years.

In his response, AIG Fayoade welcomed the Zone A Immigration Commander and described the visit as timely and strategic. He emphasized that effective collaboration, especially in intelligence sharing and coordinated operations, is vital to tackling emerging security threats and maintaining peace and stability in the country.

The AIG assured the NIS of the Police’s readiness to deepen cooperation in the collective interest of national security.

The visit further underscored the resolve of both agencies to strengthen inter-agency partnerships as a key pillar in safeguarding lives and property nationwide.
