The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), has led top leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to various communities across the council area as the party commenced its membership e-registration exercise.
The exercise, which began on Monday, January 5, 2026, is being conducted across designated ward centres, including Ward C1 (Abosan, Igbogbo), Ward C2 (Mokun, Igbogbo), Ward C3 (Baiyeku/Oreta/Offin) and Ward C4 (Ibeshe/Owode). Eligible party members and intending registrants aged 18 years and above, with valid National Identification Number (NIN) and Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC), are being enrolled seamlessly via the electronic registration platform.
Chairman Aroyewun was accompanied by the APC Chairman in IBLCDA, Hon. Taiwo Orenuga, alongside ward chairmen and other party officials, to ensure a peaceful, orderly and effective exercise. The leadership team undertook on-the-spot visits to Ward C1, Ward C2 and Ward C4, where they engaged party members, supervised the registration process and encouraged residents to take advantage of the opportunity to formalise their membership.
The ongoing e-registration exercise, holding simultaneously across IBLCDA, Ikorodu Division, Lagos State and other parts of the country, attracted the presence of prominent APC leaders and stakeholders. Among them were former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye; Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun; Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe; Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya; Hon. Babajimi Benson; Hon. Adeola Jokokba; APC Lagos State Secretary, Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani; APC Ikorodu Division Chairman, Hon. Basirat Banjoko; the Leader of the House, IBLCDA, and other members of the IBLCDA legislature.
Also present were notable party figures including Alhaji Olawale Abdullah, Alhaji Sefiu Ogunyemi, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, Alhaji Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa and Builder Olusesan Daini, among others, whose participation further boosted confidence and enthusiasm among party faithful.
Speaking during the exercise at Ward C2, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun urged residents of Igbogbo and Baiyeku to come out in large numbers to register, describing the e-registration exercise as a critical step towards strengthening the APC from the grassroots. He noted that updating party membership goes beyond internal party affairs, as it secures members’ relevance, voice and participation in shaping the future of their communities.
In his remarks, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe stressed that a credible and inclusive membership register is essential for effective party organisation and electoral success. He called on party members to approach the exercise with unity and responsibility, adding that sustained grassroots engagement remains the backbone of the APC.
Similarly, Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya and Hon. Babajimi Benson, while addressing party members in Ward C4, described the e-registration initiative as a strategic move to deepen inclusiveness, strengthen grassroots structures and position the party for sustained growth and unity.
Party members across Igbogbo and Baiyeku have been urged to continue visiting their respective ward registration centres to participate in the ongoing exercise, as part of efforts to build a stronger and more cohesive APC in IBLCDA.
