Fidelity Bank Supports Oluyole Cheshire Home with CSR Outreach in Ibadan

Fidelity Bank Plc has extended support to Oluyole Cheshire Home in Ibadan, Oyo State, through a charitable outreach aimed at improving the welfare of children living with disabilities.

The outreach, carried out under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP), saw the donation of food items, toiletries and other essential supplies to the home, particularly in the spirit of the festive season.

Speaking during the visit, the Divisional Head, Brand and Communications Division, Mr. Meksley Nwagboh, said the initiative was part of Fidelity Bank’s broader commitment to social inclusion and community development.

He explained that FHHP is a staff-driven CSR platform designed to encourage employee participation in community-focused projects that address critical social needs.

“Under the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme, our staff-led CSR initiative, we empower our employees to actively participate in community development projects, and one of such projects is the donation made to this home,” Nwagboh said.

According to him, Oluyole Cheshire Home caters to children with special needs who remain among the most vulnerable groups in society, adding that the bank was committed to contributing meaningfully to their welfare.

Nwagboh further disclosed that the outreach was spearheaded by the Visionary Team of newly inducted employees, noting that the project forms part of Fidelity Bank’s onboarding process, which introduces new staff to the institution’s CSR values.

“At Fidelity Bank, our CSR pillars are education, health, social welfare, the environment and youth empowerment, and we ensure that every new staff member is grounded in these principles from the onset,” he said, commending the Visionary Team for successfully executing the project.

Receiving the donated items on behalf of the home, Mr. Jimoh Taiwo, a caregiver and senior representative of Oluyole Cheshire Home, expressed appreciation to the bank for the support and appealed to other organisations and well-meaning individuals to follow suit.

“We sincerely appreciate Fidelity Bank for this gesture. It means a lot to the children and the home,” Taiwo said. “We call on other stakeholders to emulate this act of kindness by supporting the less privileged, especially during this period.”

Fidelity Bank Plc is ranked among Nigeria’s leading financial institutions, serving over 9.1 million customers through its digital platforms, 255 business offices nationwide and its United Kingdom subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited.

The bank has received several local and international awards, including the 2024 Excellence in Digital Transformation & MSME Banking Award by BusinessDay BAFI Awards, Most Innovative Mobile Banking Application by Global Business Outlook, and Best Bank for SMEs in Nigeria by the Euromoney Awards for Excellence.
